We will gladly accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase with initial receipt. Package must be unopened.

Halloween Return Policy

We will gladly accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase from initial receipt. Package must be unopened. Returns on Halloween costumes, Halloween decorations, and Halloween accessories by Saturday, October 24 with original receipt.  Only exchanges will be accepted after October 24 with original receipt.

The provision of a valid email address at time of purchase will facilitate easy access to an electronic receipt and enhance the return process.

General Return Policy Questions

What is Party City's return policy?

We will gladly accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase with initial receipt.

To qualify for return, merchandise must be in new condition, unworn, and in their original packaging. All returns will be credited to the original form of payment, and all returnable products, including online-only products, will be refunded for the full purchase price.

Note that seasonal merchandise (e.g. Christmas, Easter, and Halloween items, including costumes) may be returned up to 7 days prior to the holiday, in original condition, and with a store receipt or order confirmation email. If a return is made within that 7-day period, you will be refunded in store credit*.

*Store credit is valid for in-store transactions only.

Are there return exceptions?

Yes, exceptions include:

  • Helium tanks
  • Custom & personalized items (US only)
  • Partial Party Kits - Party Kit components may not be returned individually

I have misplaced my order confirmation email. How do I return my item?

If you placed an online order through your Party City account, you can find your order number in your Order History after logging into your Party City account. You can also request a new order confirmation email by contacting us.

How do I return an in-store pickup order?

In-store pickup orders can be returned to any Party City location accompanied by your order confirmation email.

How do I return a pre-ordered item?

Pre-orders cannot be returned until you have received your item. Then, you may return your order in-store or by mail.

How will I know my return has been processed?

Once we receive your return, the refund will be reflected in your bank statement within 2-5 business days*.

*Shipping & handling charges and taxes are non-refundable.
