Looking for a fun activity for your next summer party? Try a round of Disc Golf! This exciting game is perfect for guests of all ages and adds a unique twist to your event. Want to see how easy it is to set up and play? Watch our video and check out the instructions below.
Objective:
Complete the course by throwing your disc into the “hole” with the fewest number of throws.
Materials Needed:
- Flying discs
- Large serving containers or buckets for holes
- Optional: Glow sticks or string lights to mark boundaries for nighttime play
Setup:
- Map out a course with 3-9 holes around your yard. Use multiple containers to set out all the holes in advance or just move a single container as you play through the course.
- Use rope or cones to establish tee-off areas and any course boundaries. If playing at night, use glow sticks or string lights to outline the course and make the boundaries more visible.
- Decide on a par for each hole based on its difficulty and distance. For example, a short hole might be par 2, while a longer, more challenging hole might be par 4.
Instructions:
- Players start at the first tee area. Each player takes turns throwing their disc towards the hole.
- After the initial throw, players continue throwing the disc from the spot where it landed, aiming to get it into the bucket in the fewest throws possible.
- A hole is completed when a player's disc lands inside the “hole.”
- Count the number of throws taken to get the disc into the bucket. Record each player’s score for that hole.
- Move to the next tee area and repeat the process for the subsequent holes.
- The player with the lowest total score after completing all holes wins the game.
Rules:
- The player farthest from the bucket throws next until all players have completed the hole.
- If the disc lands out of bounds, it must be thrown from the point where it went out, adding an extra throw to the player's score.
Now you’re ready to throw a party and enjoy a round of Disc Golf with family and friends.
