Get creative with this candy-tastic Batman Cake How-to, featuring a cool Gotham cityscape on the top tier and fun fondant polka dots on the lower. With candy polka dots lining the base, your little superheroes dig into this sweet cake!

2 boxes instant pudding
White Buttercream Icing
2 boxes White Fondant
Royal Blue Icing Color
Lemon Yellow Icing Color

2 - 6 in. cake pans

1) Create all fondant pieces
Make these first (do not let dry): Make gum-glue by mixing 1/8c water and small bits white fondant until melted. Use to attach fondant to fondant. Make 12 buildings, black with white windows (step 10). Make polka dots with the larger opening of an icing tip (32 blue, 16 grey) (step 8).
2) Ice cakes
Bake cake rounds according to boxed cake instructions, adding the pudding packets to make cakes extra moist. Cool cakes. To prepare cake rounds to be covered with fondant, split and level. Add a coat of thin buttercream icing to crumb coat. Just before you are ready to cover add a thin layer of gel to the bottom of the round to secure fondant.
3) Prepare top tier
To create the top tier, knead out about 1/2 lb white fondant with several dots of royal clue icing color. Roll out fondant to about 12 in. round. Lay over top of cake and smooth top and sides. Remove excess fondant from bottom with paring knife.
4) Prepare bottom tier
To create the bottom tier, knead out about 1 lb white fondant with several dots of lemon yellow icing color. Roll out fondant to about 16 in. round. Lay over top of cake and smooth top and sides. Remove excess fondant from bottom with paring knife.
5) Assemble cakes
Layer cakes on cake board.
6) Attach Sixlets to top tier
With black buttercream in a disposable bag with tip #3, place small dots around the 6 in. tier and add the Black Sixlets®.
7) Attach Sixlets to bottom tier
With yellow buttercream in a disposable bag with tip #3, place small dots around the 8 in. tier and alternate Yellow, Blue and Black Sixlets®.
8) Dye fondant gray
Knead out about 1/4 lb white fondant with 1 dot of black icing color to get the grey color. With the wide end of a decorating tip, cut out 16 circles.
9) Attach polka dots
Knead out the remaining grey fondant with 2 dots of Royal Blue icing color. With the wide end of a decorating tip, cut out 32 circles. Place all the polka dots, securing with dots of buttercream.
10) Create skyline
Roll out 1/4 lb fondant, colored black, and cut twelve 1 in. x 4 in. strips. Use your imagination to make windows, building heights and various angles to make the a Gotham City skyline. Super-creative!
