Wreaths - they aren't just for Christmas anymore! Make a creepy door piece that will warn trick-or-treaters to enter...if they dare! Visit a local craft store or nursery and pick up a grapevine wreath as large as you like! Use craft wire to attach any number of eerie ornaments, such as small skeleton heads, plastic spiders and bugs, and dried flowers (like artificial black roses)! Create a bow from black or orange ribbon and attach it to the wreath. For extra gloom and doom, spread spider web through the center of the wreath and "trap" a spooky spider inside!
Instead of using lemons, fill a clear glass bowl or jar with mini pumpkins and create a boo-tiful centerpiece for your Halloween table! Fill in empty spaces with orange and black Paper Shred! Toss in a few spooky spiders and watch your guests shriek with delight!
Cornstalks make festive and inexpensive decorations for your front porch or yard! Brighten them up by adding strings of fun Halloween lights, like pumpkins, ghosts and bats! Weave the lights in between the stalk "branches" and create large black or orange bows from festive ribbon to tie around each stalk!
Throw a pumpkin carving party! But instead of lining your floors with newspaper, have the party outside in the backyard and add an extra chill to the air! Purchase several CDs with eerie Halloween sounds and music and set up several picnic tables and hay bails to sit on! String lots of Halloween lights to add a festive feel and be sure to have lots of Witches' Brew on hand - hot chocolate and hot apple cider will keep the ghouls and goblins away!
Give friends ghoulishly good goodie bags at the end of your Halloween bash! Roasted pumpkin seeds, mulling spices for cider, or jack-o-lantern cookies make sweet souvenirs! Or try pumpkin carving kits and small pumpkins so guests can haunt their own houses too!
Who says that Halloween can only be celebrated at night!?! Leave the nights for trick-or-treating and invite friends for a Halloween Breakfast! Set your table with orange and black tablecloths and festive tableware and include a spooky centerpiece! Serve pumpkin pancakes - using homemade "bat"-ter, top them with whipped cream "ghosts" and serve orange juice and cranberry "blood" juice, too! Include a warm fall beverage, like spiced cinnamon coffee! And if pumpkin's not your favorite, you could also try "boo"- berry pancakes!
Fill your front porch with spider webbing and strings of Halloween lights! Sit a tall skeleton or giant ghoul in a rickety, old rocking chair - and even hang a giant ghoul from the ceiling! Light luminaria bags for your front porch steps and add lots of pumpkins and mums for a festive, Fall feel!
Create a creepy centerpiece for your Halloween table! Fill a clear, glass vase with artificial black roses and cover them with a layer of spooky spider webbing! Find black ribbon and tie a black bow around the vase. Fill in empty spots between the stems with plastic bugs and spiders for an extra creepy touch!
