A Rainbow of Ideas
Here are some creative tips and tricks for a graduation party that's a horse of a different color!
1
If a picture really is worth a thousand words, then speak volumes with a fun photo collage of the new graduate! Using posterboard (school colors, of course!), create several posters with photos that span your grad's entire school career! Include friends, accomplishments, school pics, and anything else that helps tell the story! Display them at the party for a unique walk down memory lane!
2
How sweet it is! Rent a cotton candy or popcorn machine and create school-colored goodies! Serve them to guests in inexpensive, plastic Megaphones from Party City! Drop a baking cup in the bottom of the megaphone to cover the small hole and fill the cone with cotton candy or popcorn for a special treat!
3
Fill a clear glass or plastic jar with candy - using only the school colors - and ask each guest to guess how many pieces are inside! The person who guesses the closest wins the candy-filled jar as a party favor!
4
Create a Well of Knowledge for the new grad! Visit Party City for a large, plastic tub (Need we say it? School colors, of course!) and decorate it with colorful streamers, confetti, ribbon, etc. Ask guests to write down a short pearl of wisdom from them to the graduate and drop it in the well (make sure they sign their names)! Later, either share these pearls with all the guests or save them for the graduate to soak up once the party's over!
5
Forget signing on the dotted line - let them sign wherever they want! Autographed stuffed animals and t-shirts are a fun and unique way to let guests leave their mark and give your grad a one-of-a-kind souvenir from the big day! Encourage guests to sign their names and leave special messages for the guest of honor! If more than one grad attends the event, provide t-shirts for each one and let them sign each other's, using fabric markers and pens in school colors! But don't let them wear them while they're signing - the markers could bleed through onto the clothes they're wearing underneath! You could also frame a photo of your grad with colorful mat and ask guests to sign the mat for a special keepsake!
