You'll need fondant sheets in white and black, and icing color in royal blue, sky blue and rose. (To get the custom cyan hue, roll white fondant into a ball and knead until soft. Use a toothpick to add dots of royal blue, sky blue and rose color, and knead into fondant. Repeat to get desired shade, then roll out into a sheet. For the skullette bow, repeat steps with a small ball of white fondant and rose icing color.) To decorate: Bake and cool your cake then smooth cyan fondant over it and trim off excess. To create the argyle pattern and skull and bow silhouettes, hand-sketch a paper pattern, lay it on the fondant and trace shapes with a blade to cut out. Draw the skull face and add detail to the pink bow with a black edible food marker. Dab shapes with water and attach to cake. Pipe on white frosting dashes with a decorating bag. Add a "pearl" border with white sixlets available at Party City stores and top off the cake with Monster High candles. Fangtastic!
Pour them some Petrifying Purple Punch
Your Monster High fan and her ghoulfriends aren't the only ones with tricks up their sleeves.
It's scary-easy to add spooky "fog" to a yummy punch of grape juice, lemon-lime soda and ice. Just place a small chunk of dry ice in a separate dish of water behind a punchbowl right before serving.
(Don't place the dry ice directly in the punch, and be sure to tell guests not to handle it or try to eat it.)
Serve your punch in
Monster High Cups
with napkins for any spills.
Make Mummy Nori Sandwiches with grape eyeballs
On the "Monster High" TV show, Cleo de Nile is the daughter of the Mummy. Cleo's favorite food is grapes, and Lagoona Blue loves sushi — so create a creepy creation of mummy nori sandwiches with a side of grape eyeballs that's simply to die for!
Just cut and layer one sheet of nori (seaweed used to roll sushi — available at most grocery stores), bread cut into circles with a cookie cutter, and provolone cheese cut into
strips. Add small rounds of cheese and halved blueberries or olives for the eyes. Pair with grape eyeballs and apple fangs that are frightfully easy to make.
For your apple fangs, you'll need apples, mini marshmallows and silvered almonds. Serve your meal on
Monster High Plates.
