  • Red Decorator Preferred Fondant (24 oz. used)
  • Rolled Fondant Primary
  • Colors Multi-Pack (blue and yellow used)
  • Favorite crisped rice cereal treats recipe
  • 4.5 lb. White Ready-To-Use Decorator Icing
  • Black Icing Color
  • Creamy Peach Icing Color
  • Cornstarch
Supplies:
  • 9 in. Angled Spatula
  • Two 16 in. Cake Circles
  • Rolling pin
  • Knife
  • Plastic ruler
  • Star Double Cut-Outs Set ("C" cut-out used)
  • Mickey Mouse Cake Pan
  • Waxed or parchment paper
  • 12 in. Disposable Decorating Bags
  • Round & Star Decorating Tips Set #3/#16 (#3 used; three sets needed)
  • Round & Star Decorating Tips Set #12/#21 (#12 used)
Follow Instructions
Prepare background board one day in advance 1) Prepare background board one day in advance
For board, use spatula to spread white Sparkle Gel on 16 in. cake circle. On flat surface, use fondant roller to roll out red fondant 1/8 in. thick. Cover prepared 16 in. cake circle with red fondant. Use knife to trim excess. Roll out blue fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use straight side of "C" star cut-out to cut six stars. Use Sparkle Gel to attach stars to prepared cake circle. Roll out yellow fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use knife to cut into six strips, 1/4 in. x 10 in. Shape into coils. Use Sparkle Gel to attach coils to prepared cake circle. Let set at least 4 hours.

Tint portions of icing black and peach. Reserve some white. Use spatula and white icing to ice background area between ears smooth. With a disposable bag fitted with tip #3, use black icing to outline and fill in ears and nose. Use spatula to smooth. Let icing crust slightly.

Transfer Mickey to background board. With a disposable bag fitted with tip #3, use white icing to outline and fill in whites of eyes. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Use black icing to outline and fill in pupils and mouth. Pat smooth. Use black icing to outline eyes, bridge of nose and mouth. With a disposable bag fitted with tip #3, use peach icing to outline and fill in tongue. Pat smooth.
