  • Fondant smoother
  • Pizza cutter or paring knife
  • Toothpicks
  • Piping tip #3 (from the Cake Decorating Set)
  • 16 in. cake board
Follow Instructions
1) Ice cakes
Hit cake time with a POW! Prep your cakes for the fondant by icing them with a thin layer of buttercream icing.
2) Dye fondant
To tint the fondant light yellow, knead half the white fondant from 1 box until soft and use a toothpick to dot yellow icing color onto it. Knead until the color is evenly distributed.
3) Cover cake with fondant
Smooth the yellow fondant over the smaller cake and trim off excess with a pizza cutter or paring knife.
4) Create fondant "skyline"
To create the city skyline, roll out the black fondant and cut out building shapes with a paring knife or pizza cutter. Fit the yellow icing tube with a piping tip and dot the buildings with little rectangles for the windows. Dab the black fondant pieces with water and "glue" to cake. (Reserve some black for step 6.)
5) Dye fondant
Time for the second tier! To tint the fondant light blue, knead white fondant from the second box until soft and use a toothpick to dot blue icing color onto it. Knead until the color is evenly distributed. Cover cake with fondant, trim excess and stack cakes. (Reserve some light blue for step 10.)
6) Create black fondant symbols
To create symbols, cut out some rectangles from the black fondant you rolled out earlier.
7) Create character symbols
Knead some green, red and blue fondant from the boxed set. Using your fingers and a paring knife, shape and cut the fondant into awesome Avengers symbols, like Hulk's hand and Captain America's shield. Using small dabs of water, "glue" the symbols to the black fondant, then attach to the cake.
8) Pipe frames
Fit the black icing tube with a piping tip and pipe frames around the black fondant rectangles.
9) Attach gumballs
Dab the blue and black gumballs with a dot of icing each and press them into the bases of the cakes.
10) Add a fondant punch!
Finish this powerful cake with a piece of light blue fondant cut into the shape of a speech bubble and pipe with "POW!" in black icing.
11) Top with candles
Top with mega-fun Avengers candles and present it to your little superhero and his dream team!
